(I have always used the latest version of ADE on both my iOS devices and Mac laptops, FYI.). As recommened in several other post, I tried using other. With Adobe's resources, it's hard to imagine that they cannot produce something better than the current verion of ADE. Solved: I am facing issues with scrolling through the books that I have bought online (DRM pdf). Heck, even my previous mid 13 13" MBA meets or exceeds those hardware and software minimum requirements! So I don't understand why the scroll speed on the Mac laptops is SO slow! I checked ADE's hardawre and software minimum requirements under its tech specs. On the brand new Apple Silicon MBA, the scroll speed is, as the OP has pointed out, too slow-and jerky! It is just not a smooth and pleasant experience that you would get with ANY generic PDF reader for a non-DRM'd PDF doc. I had to return it, as a result, and go with my brand new, base M1 MacBook Air. But the iPad Pro's screen is, for whatever reason, not conducive to extended period of reading-think 4, 5, or 6 hours of reading. The page turning is improved on the high-end device, but still has some latent lagginess. Frustrated with that, I especially bought a 2020 12.9" iPad Pro. The page turning is, as said, slow and long. On the iPads, specifically, the page turning is slow, sluggish or impossible. Unfortunately I dont see the scroll bar, at least when I read a PDF entirely made of full-page illustrations. High-quality mpeg (digital) video cameras are also increasingly ubiquitous, powerful, and cheap. All of this can be incorporated into an mjw. imaging software such as Adobe Photodeluxea, and a standard pc. I have had ADE on both iPads and MacBook Airs. The official instruction manual Getting Started With ADOBE DIGITAL EDITIONS 4.5 instructs to use the scroll bar on the right side of the screen. PN4784.E 070.40285dc21 A Casebound editions of Columbia University Press books are printed. Unlike ADE, it does NOT have a version for Mac. I tried it on a 7th gen iPad and a 4th gen iPad Pro 12.9". Scroll continuously through the pages of your document instead of paging through. The alternative, Bluefire Reader, is not any better. PDFpenPro includes PDF data structures, which are copyrighted by Adobe. They are copy-righted, and-you guess it right-the DRM is managed via Adobe Digital Editions. PitStop Pro is a plug-in for Adobe Acrobat Standard, Pro and DC that enables you to edit and log changes to PDF documents. Some of the books I read are borrowed from Internet Archive. I'm running ADE 4.5.įellow users, feel free to comment your issues and aggravations with ADE below. Issue #3: You should have a toolbar where we can select the tool we want to use, like a highlighter! Every other platform has it! Having to highlight, then right click, then select the tool we want is ridiculousy inefficient and painful.įor context, I have a 2013 Macbook Pro (others with newer macs have the same issues with the scroll speed). Issue #2: We should have the option to have a 2 page display, this is a major shortfall - especially since many textbooks have 2 page spreads of graphics. Issue #1: Scroll speed is ridiculously slow and glitchy. This cannot be ignored any longer! Fix these issues! Hundreds of people have complained about them! Your e-reader platform is inferior to others in every way - and now with thousands of students needing to switch to online learning, we have no choice but to use your app because our textbooks require it.
