The mic is decent, what you plug it into probably matters more in terms of getting a static-free experience. They are also great for all-day wear just like the 598 and I even prefer the foam padding under the headband to the 598s pleather. I don't recall ever having this experience with the 598s though it has been a while. It was only after taking the headset off did I realize it was actually a noise coming from the game, so I would say their positional sound is excellent. However, there were times I was playing some single-player games with my Game Ones and certain background noises in the game would appear to be coming from inside my house. Perfectly fine for games/movies/TV etc.īoth were good for games, competitive and otherwise. The Game Ones sounded closer to 558s than to 598s, but to be honest I wouldn't recommend them for music listening (other than background music for games of course) because I find they sound unnatural for music if you take the time to compare them to higher fidelity stuff. I currently own the Game Ones still but plan on selling them soon too as they have been replaced with HD600s.
